LODI - Demolition is set to begin in Lodi after a fire ripped through a home early Tuesday morning.

Officials say the fire started at around 4 a.m. on the second floor of a multi-family home on River Street.

They say the eight people inside at the time escaped unharmed.

The flames then quickly spread to another multi-family home next door.

Officials say four women were inside at the time and also escaped unharmed.
