SCOTCH PLAINS - Crews battled a three-alarm fire at a home in Scotch Plains early Saturday morning.

Officials say the flames broke at 1710 Cooper Road at around 5 a.m. The fire began in a detatched garage before spreading to the home.

Scotch Plains fire crews got the fire under control within a couple of hours.

News 12 New Jersey spoke to the homeowner, who says everyone made it out safely. He added that it's unclear what the cause of the fire was at this time.
