BAYONNE - Crews battled a four-alarm fire on Trembley Court in Bayonne for about two hours today.
The fire started at around 4 p.m. in a two-story building and quickly spread to an adjacent structure. No injuries were reported, and all residents were safely evacuated from both buildings.
Jason O'Donnell, Bayonne's public safety director, says the close proximity of the buildings to one another made accessibility to the fire difficult. Trembley Court is also a one-way dead end, so the hose had to be physically walked down the street.
O'Donnell says exposure lines were set up to limit the fire's spread to adjacent buildings.
The Red Cross estimates 20 people were impacted by the fire, and that some are looking for a place to stay.
