MONMOUTH COUNTY - Creeks in low-lying areas across the state are being monitored for flash flooding in Andrea's aftermath.

Backyard flooding has become an issue in areas of Oakhurst. Residents, who have been trapped in their homes during previous storms, are armed with sand bags as rain pours down on neighborhood creeks.

Residents in Howell are also watching for flash flooding. During Irene, several homes on Mariner's Cove in Howell were severely damaged by flooding.

Homeowners in both areas tell News 12 New Jersey that they now take precautions with every significant storm.
