EDISON - A serious crash snarled northbound traffic on the New Jersey Turnpike for miles this afternoon.

The incident happened in the area of Exit 8A.

Police say the crash involved a motorcycle and three other vehicles. Two people who were on the motorcycle were hospitalized with serious injuries.

It's unclear if anyone in the vehicles were injured, or if anyone could face charges stemming from the crash.

A photo from the scene showed people getting out of their cars on the turnpike as they waited for traffic to start moving.

The affected lanes have since been reopened.
