LODI - The eastbound lanes of I-80 at Route 17 in Lodi were stalled by traffic Friday after an early morning crash left three people hurt.

The driver of the car was reportedly driving very fast and erratically. A New Jersey state trooper was about to pull the driver over for speeding when the crash occurred.

Three people were inside the car at the time. The driver was able to pull himself out of the car after the crash, but his two female passengers had to be extricated by first responders.

All three were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.

Officials did not say if the driver was suspected to be impaired or if any charges would be filed.
