JERSEY CITY - Couples in Jersey City took advantage of what they consider to be lucky numbers today by getting married on 11/12/13.

Jersey City's deputy mayor oversaw two of the day's weddings in council chambers, and Mayor Steve Fulop performed the final ceremony.

Faricita Johnson and Petrina Baerga have been together for five years and in a civil union for three. They decided to get married under New Jersey's new same-sex marriage legislation on a date they won't forget.

'It feels great to finally get our love recognized," says Baerga.

Marie Sullivan and Dennis Lindabury waited more than nine years for the perfect day.

"Always wanted to do a sequential," Lindabury says.

The couples got the second to last sequential date this century. The next is 12/13/14.
