NEWARK - A Newark couple says they came home to find 12 feet of snow pushed onto their front lawn after help hired by the city thought the home was abandoned.

It's been more than a week since the blizzard dumped snow across the state.

One of the hardest hit areas was Newark. According to city officials, Newark had to hire outside emergency contractors to help clean up the snow.

They pushed it all onto the property of a home damaged last year in a fire.

The homeowner says now contractors can't finish working on it.

Gilda Smith wasn’t too happy to find the snow on her property.

“This is a disgrace, the city of Newark, New Jersey, this is a disgrace to us as taxpayers. This is something that's a nightmare,” says Smith.

The city brought out emergency crews to clear away all the snow so the contractors can resume work fixing up the house.
