DOVER - Officials in Dover discovered the messy evidence of a counterfeit ketchup operation inside a warehouse.

Tenants who rent space next door were tipped off to the operation after smelling the spoiled ketchup coming from next door.

Inside the warehouse, officials found thousands of exploded bottles of ketchup, along with empty bottles and labels with the Heinz logo.

The Heinz Company says this was an unauthorized repackaging operation.

The company also says there is no evidence that any of the counterfeit ketchup ever made it to stores.
