TRENTON - New Jersey may be blessed with hundreds of millions of dollars in extra cash.
Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) and lawmakers are now trying to figure out what to do with the extra money. The money comes after predicted tax returns came in much larger than expected.
There are disagreements over the exact amount projected. The Office of Legislative Services says that there is $900 million extra and the Treasury says there is $500 million extra.
Democrats and Republicans hinted at ways they'd like to see the money used for, including tax breaks. Both sides agreed to spend slowly, since the amounts are still just projections.
