EDISON - The battle for the state's open U.S. Senate seat is at full steam as residents prepare to head to the polls Wednesday.
Newark Mayor Cory Booker and former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan spent much of Tuesday campaigning across New Jersey, trying to garner every last prospective vote. Lonegan was out on the street as early as 7 a.m., while Booker decided to host a late-night run called "Run with Cory."
The latest polls show Booker with a double-digit lead.

Booker insists Lonegan has struggled to understand the concerns of young New Jersey residents, especially students facing expensive tuition and rising loan costs.
Meanwhile, Lonegan says Booker has proven incompetent in public office and will continue to ineffectively represent his constituents.
