Cops confirm identity of dismembered body found in Cliffside Park

CLIFFSIDE PARK - Police have confirmed that a dismembered body that was found in two separate locations in Cliffside Park is that of Francisco Gonzalez Fuentes, who was reported missing on Sunday.

Authorities say the 46-year-old Cliffside Park man was brutally murdered and his body was discovered in garbage bags in two locations on Cliff Street.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office says two men have been charged in the stabbing and dismemberment of Gonzalez Fuentes. Officials say Pedro Garcia, 33, who was identified by Gonzalez Fuentes' family as his live-in boyfriend, and Wilfredo Sanchez, 34, were charged in connection to the murder. They are being held on $2 million bail each.

Gonzalez Fuentes came to the United States from El Salvador 20 years ago and worked at the Palisades Avenue Café. He supported his sister and many say he kept watch over his neighborhood.
