Cops: 2 shootings leave 1 dead, 1 injured in Newark, Union

NEWARK - Two bizarre shooting incidents in Newark and Union have left one person dead and another injured.

Police say a woman was found on I-78 near exit 56 in Newark with a gunshot wound to the arm. She is expected to recover.

A short time later, police say a man crashed into a tree and then into a parked car on Vauxhall Road in Union. The car was found to have been shot numerous times, and the driver of the vehicle later died in the hospital.

Investigators have arrested 25-year-old John Frazier of Newark in connection with the shootings.
