Construction projects resume after holiday-weekend suspension

NORTH BRUNSWICK - Construction projects are starting up again across the state after a break over the holiday weekend.

One of the larger projects is the replacement of a bridge on Route 1 near Route 130 in North Brunswick. Construction there was scheduled to begin at noon today. Officials say they expect the project to be completed by the summer.

Some drivers say they are used to the traffic, but would like to see most of the major construction done before the summer rush. Other projects include a viaduct replacement on Routes 1 and 9, a renewed Passaic River crossing and the partial repaving of I-295.
