NEWARK - A community is grieving the loss of a two people beaten to death in a Newark home.

People that knew Ruby Green say they can't believe that such a loving, gentle person would die this way.

The Essex County prosecutor says Green and the man she was dating died from blunt force trauma.

Their bodies were found Tuesday at around 3 p.m. inside Green's apartment. Police say she shared the apartment with some of her adult children.

The male victim is not being identified because his relatives have not been notified.

Green's children tell News 12 New Jersey she worked at the Newark Airport Avis for the past 10 years.

The victim had three sons, two daughters and several grandchildren.

Prosecutors say the investigation into the murders is ongoing.
