PATERSON - Paterson officials will hold a forum Wednesday to discuss how to bring a new library to the city’s First Ward.

Hurricane Irene wiped out the library four years ago. Since then, a temporary library has been set up inside the Christopher Hope Community Center, but only a dozen people can be inside at one time.

Organizers are hoping the new library can be a place where people can go for the arts, as well as career support.

“Right now, [kids] are in the streets of Paterson because we don't have the facilities that they can go to,” said Jeanette Thompson with the Building Pride in the Northside organization.

The meeting will be held Wednesday at the Christopher Hope Community Center at 6:30 p.m.
