MONTVALE - The Syrian community in New Jersey is watching events overseas with great concern.

Montvale resident and Syrian-American Mike Ghassali says refugees have been arriving over the last few weeks, adding that he is concerned that instability could lead to violence targeted at his people at home.

The U.S. has spent the week gearing up for a possible strike against the regime's stockpiles of chemical weapons.

"We plea and we beg not to bomb Syria," says Ghassali. "There's other ways, perhaps more peaceful ways."
