EDISON - Coffee drinkers are feeling more than a jolt of caffeine with their drink, as the price for a cup continues to climb.

Coffee bean prices are now the highest they've been in 13 years. Most coffee shop owners say they've raised prices after facing a 145-percent increase in the price of Arabica beans within the last year.

The owner of PJ's in Highland Park tells News 12 New Jersey he increased prices by 10 percent last October for the first time in five years.

Lance Marvin, who owns Rockin' Joe in Westfield, hasn't raised his coffee prices yet, but says it's getting difficult not to pass his higher costs for coffee beans onto customers.
