EDISON - A boat that grounded last night at Manasquan Inlet has been reduced to rubble by the powerful surf.

Shortly after high tide on the inlet, the waves tore apart what was left of the vessel.

The Coast Guard says a witness told them the boat was towing another boat in when it hit the rocks.

Investigators are trying to determine how the boat ran aground.
