CLIFTON - A Clifton High School teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student pleaded not guilty to sexual assault charges.
Kristin Leone is charged with sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of criminal sexual contact, luring and enticing a child, and two counts of official misconduct. The 26-year-old was arrested last week.
Prosecutors say Leone engaged in sexual conduct with the child on two separate occasions; once in a classroom and once at her home.
Leone has been suspended with pay while authorities conduct an investigation.
The case will now be referred to a grand jury. Leone has been ordered not to have contact with the victim. She also cannot have unsupervised contact with anyone under 18.
