Clifton company moving to VA, cutting 115 jobs

CLIFTON - Home Care Industries in Clifton is packing up its bags and moving to Virginia.

The company has called New Jersey home since 1989. Now, the company is taking 115 jobs with it when it relocates.

Home Care Industries makes vacuum cleaner bags and filters at its headquarters. Many employees spoke to News 12 New Jersey about how frustrated they are about the move.

Shop Steward Maria Pacheco says Home Care Industries had a contract to stay in Clifton through 2013, but management was forced to relocate because of New Jersey's high taxes and rent.

Employees are working with the union on a severance package.
