MANAHAWKIN - Cleanup continues in Ocean County after the National Weather Service confirmed that an EF-0 tornado struck the area Tuesday morning.

The weather service says the tornado touched down near the Manahawkin section of Stafford Township just after 10 a.m.

It had an estimated maximum wind speed of 75 to 85 mph, a maximum width of 50 to 100 yards and a path length of two miles.

It touched down near the intersection of Route 9 and Oak Avenue, and lifted near the intersection of Hilliard Boulevard and Beach Avenue.

Trees were snapped or knocked down along the path, and roof damage was reported at the Manahawkin Baptist Church.
