EDISON - A new report proposes that NJ Transit take over the PATH system from the Port Authority.

The Citizens Budget Commission report calls the PATH a major drain on the agency and taxpayers alike.
If the plan gets the political backing it needs, it could bring more than $300 million annually to the Port Authority.

Neither NJ Transit nor the Port Authority have commented on the proposal.
