TRENTON - Gov. Chris Christie has signed an executive order honoring the life of Clarence Clemons, the beloved saxophonist of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band.

Flags across the Garden State will be flown at half-staff tomorrow to memorialize Clemons' contributions to the state.

Clemons, who first met Springsteen in New Jersey in the early 1970s, died Saturday. His funeral was held Tuesday in Florida. The executive order calls Clemons "a gifted musician, remarkable performer and iconic figure in New Jersey."

Christie, a devoted Springsteen fan, says Clemons brought joy to music lovers everywhere.
