TRENTON - At an education summit in Mercer County today, Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) revealed the results of his Education Transformation Taskforce.

Christie says someone in Trenton had what they thought was a good idea, made a regulation and never followed up to find out if it was accomplishing what it was meant to accomplish.

Now, the state's taskforce is suggesting changes, including a new test for seniors to determine if they're fit to graduate, as well as getting the state out of The No Child Left Behind program.

Christie says the goal is to make sure good schools are rewarded. Christie also says he wants to "put the pause button on failure," rather than punishing schools that don't hit certain marks.

The taskforce's final recommendations will be out New Year's Eve.
