NJ Gov. Christie Reunites with Port Monmouth girl

PORT MONMOUTH - Gov. Chris Christie admits that of all the people he met while touring the Sandy-ravaged parts of the state, 9-year-old Ginjer Doherty made it difficult to keep his emotions at bay.

Doherty and her family lost their Port Monmouth home during Sandy. She and her family are currently renting a home to learn whether they can repair their house.

The governor says meeting the little girl as he toured areas hard hit by the storm reminded him of his own 9-year-old daughter. Christie says that while he knew it was his job to be strong and reassuring, he was very emotional upon meeting the girl and hearing her story.

In addition to giving Ginjer a hug today, Christie said he'd call the family in the future to check on them.
