EDISON - Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) confronted a heckler yesterday at a political rally for California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman in Los Angeles.
Christie was concluding the event when an angry audience member shouted his opinion about the Republican candidate Whitman.
The New Jersey governor immediately shot up from his chair and confronted the heckler face-to-face.
Christie replied, "Hey listen. You know what. You want to yell, yell at me."
Whitman says the budget-cutting and union-fighting tactics employed by Christie provide a perfect "roadmap" for her plans in California.
News 12 New Jersey had the footage of the campaign stop first and also spoke to Marie Corefield, who was involved in a confrontation with Christie earlier this month.
Corefield was at a town hall meeting when she got up and spoke. She says she was only exercising her First Amendment right to speak out and complains that she's been getting nasty letters and e-mails ever since.
