Christie town hall postponed by bad weather

LONG BRANCH - (AP) - Gov. Chris Christie's latest town hall event has been scrapped due to inclement weather.

Christie was expected to travel to Long Branch on Tuesday afternoon for the first in a series of summer conversations along the Jersey Shore.

But the event was rescheduled as a result of severe thunderstorms moving through the area.

Christie had been expected to spend the event pressing for new public worker benefits cuts as well as taking audience questions.

Christie's office released a mock movie trailer earlier in the afternoon touting his tough approach ahead of the event.

The governor's last town hall meeting was interrupted repeatedly by protesters angry about the new budget and state education policies.
