BAYONNE - Celebrity Cruises' "The Silhouette" is now docked in Bayonne, the latest of many cruise ships to dock on the New Jersey side of the Hudson over the past few years.

Since 2004, cruise lines have been leaving from Port Liberty in the Hudson County town. Anthony Caputo, director of operations for Cape Liberty Cruise Port, says that when a ship such as "The Silhouette" pulls in, it usually brings in about a $1.5 million- $2 million of economic activity.

Members of Bayonne's Chamber of Commerce say passengers and crew also spend a lot of money in town - on everything from gas for their cars to dinner at local restaurants and last-minute items at drug stores.
