Candidates for 14th state Senate District make final push

CRANBURY - The candidates for the seat in the 14th state Senate District were making their final appeals to voters today at local diners. The campaigns for state Sen. Tom Goodwin (R-N.J.) and Democratic opponent Linda Greenstein both admit the race will be very close. Many believe the race is a referendum on Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.), who is facing a union backlash. The largest union for state workers is backing Greenstein.Goodwin was appointed to the seat earlier this year to fill a vacancy. The winner will finish out the remaining year of the term. Whoever wins will represent residents of Middlesex and Mercer counties.
