Camden police: Byaer Johnson shot 11-year-old daughter in the face

CAMDEN - A man from South Jersey was charged today with shooting his 11-year-old daughter in the face.

Authorities say Byaer Johnson, 27, went to the Camden home where the girl lives on Thursday night. They say he pulled out a handgun and put it on the floor, then shot the girl when he was asked to leave.

Authorities say a 28-year-old man wrestled the gun away from Johnson and shot him in the buttocks.

Johnson is being treated for his injury and is expected to be moved to Camden County Jail.

He is charged with attempted murder and weapons offenses. The girl is in stable condition and expected to survive.
