SOUTH BRUNSWICK - South Brunswick police are looking for a man who broke into a woman’s home Wednesday night.

The incident took place on Davinci Drive near South Brunswick High School.  Investigators say that the homeowner was upstairs when she heard a breaking noise coming from the first floor. She went downstairs and noticed a small hole in her kitchen sliding glass door. A moment later the suspect pushed through the broken glass door and entered the kitchen. The woman yelled and ran out of the house. The suspect also ran out of the house once he realized someone was home.

Neighbors in the high-end retirement community say crime is not the norm in the area, and they are worried.

"It's pretty scary because my mother-in-law lives with me along with my wife.  I'm going to make a recommendation -- we should have a security gate of some kind,” says one neighbor who declined to give his full name.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 6 feet 2 inches tall with a stocky build. He had a mustache or slight beard. He was last seen wearing a black or brown jacket.

Detectives say that the suspect ran from the home and got into a dark gray Honda or Toyota that was parked.

Anyone with information about this case is urged to call South Brunswick police at 732-329-4646.
