Authorities are investigating an overnight shooting near the Sand Bar in Brielle that left one woman injured.

POINT PLEASANT BOROUGH - Authorities have arrested a man believed to have shot a woman outside the Sand Bar restaurant in Brielle.

Louis Cataldo, 62, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose. He is being held in the Monmouth County Correctional Facility on $1.5 million bail.

Officials believe the suspect shot and critically wounded a female victim in the parking lot of the Sand Bar restaurant in nearby Brielle just before 1 a.m. Tuesday. The victim is believed to have worked at the Sand Bar. Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Charles Webster says she was shot once.

Authorities say the woman is in critical but stable condition at Jersey Shore Medical Center.

Following the incident, Cataldo allegedly barricaded himself in a home in the Bay Point Harbor Condominiums in Point Pleasant Borough. Neighbors tell News 12 New Jersey that the man with whom police were in a standoff was the owner of the Sand Bar.
