BRIDEWATER - A waitress at the Gallop Asian Bistro in Bridgewater says a customer did not give her a tip due to her sexual preference.

Dayna Morales posted the story on the LGBT-friendly Facebook page "Have a Gay Day."

She says that in the space where the tip should be included, there was a note that said, "I'm sorry, but I cannot tip because I don't agree with your lifestyle and how you live your life."

Morales, who is a former Marine, feels the customer made the judgment based on her short hair.

"I was offended," Morales says. "I mean there are really no words. I mean, I was really hurt." She went home and posted the picture on Facebook, just trying to vent to friends and family.

The restaurant was busy Friday, and many customers asked specifically to sit in Morales' section. They left generous tips, trying to make up for the family that stiffed her.

Tips, Morales says, are coming in from around the world, and she and the restaurant's owners have big plans.

"I plan to take that, and being a vet, bring a portion of it to the Wounded Warrior Fund. My owners here, my managers, are willing to match whatever I send and send it off to an LGBT foundation."
