WALL TOWNSHIP - A bridge on New Bedford Road between Mill Pond Court and Troy Road in Wall Township has been closed to all traffic while repairs are made to the span's support, Monmouth County officials said.

Police were called out to the bridge yesterday morning after motorists complained that it seemed to be caving in.

All traffic on New Bedford Road between 18th Avenue and Allaire Road (CR-524) will be detoured.

County officials said a localized failure of the bridge's timber deck required the closing of the bridge. Repairs are expected to be completed this evening
