NEWARK - Two former aides to Gov. Chris Christie are asking a judge to postpone their sentencing next month.

Bridget Kelly and Bill Baroni were convicted in November in connection with an alleged plot to purposely cause traffic jams near the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee as a form of punishment against Democratic Mayor Mark Sokolich. The mayor did not endorse the Republican Christie during his 2013 re-election campaign.

Kelly's attorney said she hasn't had enough time under law to review a pre-sentencing report.

Kelly and Baroni were each convicted on seven criminal counts that carry maximum sentences up to 20 years. But they're expected to be sentenced to far less time.

Both have appealed their convictions. They are scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 21.

The Associated Press wire services contributed to this report.
