TRENTON - The Bridge-Gate investigation committee has announced it will issue 20 subpoenas.

The subpoenas are for 17 people and three organizations.

Assemblyman John Wisniewski, chairman of the committee, made the announcement Thursday. The names have not been released, but Wisniewski says that the list does not include Gov. Chris Christie.

The Assembly voted unanimously today to renew its authority to continue the probe in the new legislative session. Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto announced the members of the special committee to investigate last year's lane closures on an approach to the George Washington Bridge.

Other Democrats on the panel are Marlene Caride, of Ridgefield; Lou Greenwald, of Voorhees; Gordon Johnson, of Teaneck; Paul Moriarty, of Washington Township, Linda Stender, of Scotch Plains; Valerie Vainieri Huttle, of Teaneck and Bonnie Watson Coleman, of Trenton.

Republican members are Michael Patrick Carroll, of Morris Plains; Betty Lou DeCroce, of Parsippany; Amy Handlin, of Red Bank and Holly Schepisi, of Westwood.

One of the major questions the committee must look at is whether Gov. Chris Christie was aware of or had a role in the apparently politically connected closures in Fort Lee.

The committee did not release the names of the people on the subpoena list, but the governor's former deputy chief of staff, Bridget Kelly, and fired campaign manager, Bill Stepien, are expected to be among them.
