Brick Twp. teacher critical after being hit by SUV

BRICK TOWNSHIP - Police say a Brick Township teacher is fighting for her life after she was run over by an SUV.

Authorities say Kim Wilson, 49, was sun-bathing behind her apartment building in Point Pleasant Borough on Sunday when a Chevy Suburban came around the corner and ran her over.

The fifth-grade teacher suffered serious head injuries in the accident, as well as a perforated lung, broken ribs and facial fractures, police say.

Officials say the driver of the SUV, 44-year-old Lori Rossi, was a new tenant who was moving into the building. She has been charged with reckless driving, although additional charges are possible.
