BRICK - It's been two weeks of darkness for many neighborhoods in Brick Township still powerless from Superstorm Sandy.

Residents there have grown frustrated with the lack of a timetable for power restoration. Many are posting handwritten signs demanding their power be turned back on.

Mayor Steve Acropolis estimates that as many as 7,000 homes sustained water damage from Sandy. JCP&L says electric meters in the remaining homes need a safety inspection before power can be restored.
