BRICK - Residents of the Normandy Beach and Camp Osborne sections of Brick came home today for the first time since Superstorm Sandy devastated the area.

Island communities in Brick were hit hard by the storm. Residents in these beach communities had not been allowed back since mandatory evacuations were put in place.

Brick Mayor Steve Acropolis says that once Route 35 is safe to reopen, residents will have an easier time getting in and continuing the cleanup efforts.

The mayor says the bay might have to be dredged because of the amount of debris from the houses and boats that sank into it.
