Boy rescued from cliff near Rockaway River

A 13-year-old boy was rescued from the side of a cliff near the Rockaway River Sunday morning.

BOONTON - A 13-year-old boy was rescued from the side of a cliff near the Rockaway River Sunday morning.

Boonton police say the boy and a friend were walking near Grace Lord Park when the boy suddenly slipped on the wet ground.

They say he slid about 30 feet down the cliff.

Crews used ropes and a basket to secure the boy and hoist him to safety.
