Bound Brook's flood-control project close to completion

BOUND BROOK - Bound Brook Mayor Carey Pilato says at least 85 percent of Bound Brook's flood-control project is done. The project is building a levee between Bound Brook and the Raritan River.

The Army Corps of Engineers is working on the rest, including getting a pumping station up and running.

The construction project began nearly a decade ago after decades of flooding. But until all of the levees are finished, Bound Brook is still at risk. Many are excited, however, that the project is closer to being finished than ever before.
