Bound Brook residents keep eye on Raritan River

BOUND BROOK - The rain keeps falling in Bound Brook and residents in the area are keeping a close watch on the Raritan River.

Disastrous flooding has impacted the area in the past, including last year. News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says that the river water should be around 32 feet by Saturday morning, which will lead to flooding.

Bound Brook Mayor Carey Pilato says that the water is expected to be contained in small lots and blocks, as opposed to systematically through the town. A levy was built over the past year on the banks of the river in an effort to prevent flooding. Pilato says the first test was the rainstorm earlier this week.
