Borders bookstore joins the list of bankrupt retailers

METUCHEN - Borders Group has announced that it will close four of its New Jersey Borders locations.

Businesses are being forced to change their models in a world where iPads, iPhones and Kindles are selling, which has left Borders in the digital dust. Rutgers University Professor Wayne Eastman specializes in analyzing supply chains for businesses and says Borders not bringing millions of books to people's fingertips digitally meant trouble.

Borders says it plans to close stores in Freehold, Fort Lee, Paramus and Watchung by the end of April.
