Boil water advisory issued for some Passaic residents

PASSAIC - The Passaic Valley Water Commission (PVWC) has issued a boil water advisory for residents in Passaic following a water main break.

Officials say the advisory is in effect for residents on Passaic Street and 5th Street; South Street from 5th to 11th streets; Wall Street from River to Passaic streets; also affected are 11th Street, 10th Street, 9th Street, 8th Street, 7th Street, 6th Street, 5th Street, Lodi Street and Veterans Court.

PVWC says residents should continue boiling water until further notice.

The advisory was issued due to a 12-inch water main break near Passaic and Wall streets. Officials say they expect to restore normal service to customers later this evening.
