Boil water advisory in effect for Trenton area

TRENTON - Residents of Trenton, Ewing and Lawrence are being advised to boil water before drinking it until further notice.

Officials say the advisory was issued because Trenton's water plant is having problems treating water due to the high level of the Delaware River.

In a news release this afternoon, Mayor Tony Mack said, "Officials at Trenton Water Works are closely monitoring all changes of the water system, and continue to work tirelessly to restore service back to normal."

Critics blame the mayor for not having the proper personnel on hand to monitor the plant's operation.

Customers can contact Trenton Water Works for more information at (609) 989-3208.
