Body thefts may be linked to 'non-traditional religious practices'

FORDS - As News 12 New Jersey first reported last week, the remains of an elderly man were taken from a mausoleum in a Woodbridge cemetery.

In November, the remains of a toddler were stolen from a grave in Perth Amboy.

The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office has issued a statement that says the thefts may be "the work of individuals involved in a non-traditional religious practice."

Authorities are asking cemeteries and visitors to report anything suspicious.
