LONG BRANCH - Authorities say body of a young man was pulled out of the Branchport Creek, which is a tributary of the Shrewsbury River, earlier this morning.

State police, along with the Long Branch fire and police departments, blocked off the area behind the Pleasure Bay Apartment Complex for several hours while they conducted their investigation. The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office has called the death an accidental drowning.

A woman who came out to the scene earlier today broke down after speaking with police.

Authorities have not yet identified the young man.
