NEW YORK - After Sandy destroyed millions of dollars worth of leisure boats, many families are in the market for new ones.

Leisure boaters are attending the New York Boat Show inside New York City's Jacob Javits Convention Center this weekend hoping to find replacement vessels.

Brad Diefenbacher, of Ocean Beach, is one such customer. He hopes to replace the 21-footer he lost when Sandy swept it out to sea.

According to Boat US, a leading industry group, more than 25,000 boats from New Jersey were damaged or lost at a cost of more than $242 million.
