WEEHAWKEN - The Blue Angels returned to the area for a special flyover Friday afternoon.

The U.S. Navy's flight demonstration squadron made up of seven FA-18s took off from Teterboro Airport and made three passes along the Hudson River.

The jets flew from the Tappan Zee Bridge down to the Freedom Tower.

One of the planes was equipped to take photographs during the flyby.

Sequestration and budget cuts grounded the Angels in April. Their show season usually runs from March to November.
